NORTH EAST LINK TUNNELS

SCOPE: JMAC expertly managed the logistics of transporting plant and equipment to and from the water treatment facilities in Bulleen and Macleod, crucial to the tunneling operations. Our diverse cargo included everything from single pallets and containers to oversized water treatment tanks, requiring specialised trailers, pilot escort vehicles, and strategic night travel. Prior to commencing our contract, JMAC undertook a comprehensive assessment to ensure full compliance with Safety and Chain of Responsibility standards. We received approval as a qualified transport provider, and our drivers completed a rigorous induction program, facilitating seamless integration and adherence to site-specific protocols.
We meticulously planned delivery routes, incorporating additional time allowances for potential delays. Our team consistently monitored real-time traffic updates through the VIC traffic website, ensuring efficient route management. This careful planning and effective communication within our team ensured timely deliveries without delays or disruptions.
WESTERN HARBOUR TUNNEL AND WARRINGAH FREEWAY UPGRADE

SCOPE: JMAC successfully managed the transportation of plant and equipment for water treatment facilities in Westmead, Parramatta, and Eastern Creek as part of a major tunnelling project. Our scope of work mirrored the complexity of the North East Link tunnel, involving a diverse range of items from single pallets and containers to large, oversized water treatment tanks. This required the use of specialised trailers, pilot escort vehicles, and night travel, all while adhering to approved routes and strict on-site delivery windows.
Given the nature of oversized loads, which sometimes originated from interstate, we leveraged our extensive regional knowledge to navigate daylight travel restrictions. When necessary, we engaged pilot escort vehicles to facilitate night travel and meet tight delivery schedules. Our agile network enabled
us to reallocate trucks to other assignments efficiently, even when delivery dates were adjusted at short notice due to site changes.
In line with our work on the North Eastern Tunnel project, JMAC prioritised open and transparent communication with key stakeholders and site operators. We proactively addressed potential delays
caused by adverse weather conditions or road closures by ensuring that all parties were promptly informed and that contingency plans were in place. This commitment to clear communication and effective planning allowed us to mitigate delays.
ACCIONA SOLAR FARM
CLIENT: Karlka Fencewright
LOCATION: Aldoga, Queensland
CONTRACT VALUE: $50,000
PROJECT TIMELINE: March - April 2024
SCOPE: JMAC successfully transported commercial fencing materials from Geebung to the
Aldoga site for Karlka Fencewright (a 100% Aboriginal owned business). JMAC conducted
a rigorous assessment to ensure full compliance with Safety and Chain of Responsibility
standards. Adhering to site protocols, we secured the delivery 48 hours in advance and met a
narrow delivery window, critical to preventing any potential truck rejections.
BLACKWATER AND MORANBAH HOSPITAL UPGRADES
CLIENT: Hutchinson Builders
LOCATION: Blackwater and Moranbah, Queensland
CONTRACT VALUE: $300,000
PROJECT TIMELINE: April 2024 - July 2024
SCOPE: The project included the transportation of modular buildings from Ormeau to sites at Blackwater and Moranbah. Most of the buildings were over-dimensional requiring specialised extendable trailers, pilot escort vehicles and restricted travel times. More than 150 modular buildings were loaded, transported, and delivered within a very short period of time. JMAC had to be prepared for potential delays onsite due to crane issues and adverse weather. Loading and unloading had to be done by overhead cranes, so strict arrival and delivery timeslots had to be adhered to.
Most of the items transported required a OSOM (oversize and/or overmass) permits for this project. When a load exceeds a certain weight and/or dimension limit, an OSOM permit is required to travel on the road. The permit conditions are very detailed and specific, right down to what roads we were allowed to travel on. Third party authorisation was also required from overhead cabling and rail infrastructure providers.
At Moranbah Hospital, a total of 103 modulars had to be transported. We were scheduled to coordinate 20 deliveries; however we were able to assist with more when another provider cancelled last minute. Heavy rain in Moranbah caused delays, with some trucks from our first run stuck onsite for two days waiting to be unloaded. As a result, they couldn’t return in time for the second run. Fortunately, thanks to our extensive network, we were able to procure other trucks to cover this run. Throughout the duration of these projects, we maintained constant communication with the Hutchinson Builders install teams onsite.
FRUCOR SUNTORY OCEANIA MANUFACTURING FACILITY

SCOPE: JMAC proficiently managed the transportation of various plant and equipment,
including crates, skids, containers, and oversized tanks, from Sydney and Melbourne to the Swanbank site. This extensive scope included everything from single pallets and standard containers to large, oversized water treatment tanks. To handle these oversized loads, we employed specialised trailers and pilot escort vehicles, and conducted night travel to adhere to approved routes and strict on-site delivery windows. Our detailed planning and execution ensured the successful and timely delivery of all items, meeting the project’s requirements with precision and efficiency.
PRINCE CHARLES HOSPITAL UPGRADE

LOCATION: Brisbane, Queensland

SCOPE: JMAC efficiently delivered oversized modular buildings to the heart of Brisbane
CBD for the Prince Charles Hospital Upgrade. This project required strict adherence to a
detailed traffic management plan and specific hospital restrictions for a successful night
installation. Our operations involved two transportation runs. The first set of trucks arrived at 9:30 AM for loading, departed the yard at 12:30 AM, unloaded on-site, and returned for the second load around 4:00 AM. We meticulously followed the modular install methodology, which outlined precise entry and exit routes, traffic management protocols, turning angles, and designated parking areas.
To navigate access restrictions and minimise vehicle length, JMAC utilised cab-over chassis
prime movers, enhancing maneuverability around the site. Our comprehensive planning
and execution ensured that all delivery criteria were met seamlessly and efficiently.
